The footage shows the helmet-wearing rider weave his way through a crowd of looters in Croydon, south London, before being chased down the street by a hooded yob.
Within seconds of being spotted, several other thugs descend on the poor rider like a pack of animals.
After being yanked away by a hooded looter when he tries to fight back, the rider can only look on helplessly as a second opportunistic thief jumps on the vehicle and rides away.
The video, the latest posted on YouTube showing the deplorable behaviour of looters during the riots, then captures the rider bravely trying to get his vehicle back.
When the grey tracksuit-wearing looter crashes the scooter after a matter of seconds, he runs back to try to retrieve it, only to be kicked in the back by yet another yob.
The footage was posted on YouTube by a user called Markosilla on August 10 and has since been viewed more than 4,500 times.

After seeing off an attempt from the owner to get his scooter back, the looter then rides back in the same direction and away from view on the stolen vehicle
Last night more shocking scenes emerged when CCTV video showed two police officers being knocked down by a car as they chased looters during the riots.
