Super Falcons coach sacked

The Super Falcons coach, Uche Eucharia has been relieved of her duties on Monday after failing to qualify the Falcons for the 2012 London Olympics. This was disclosed by the Nigeria Football Federation chief media officer, Ademola Olajire in Lagos.
The Falcons were defeated 4-3 via penalties shoot-out by the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroun on Sunday to clinch the remaining Olympic ticket.
Mr Olajire said there is no debate about the issue as it was made clear to the coach that if she fails to qualify the team for the Olympics, she would be fired.
“We gave them all the necessary support and still they let us down. They had one of the best camping programs ever and still they did not qualify. The coach has been sacked and that is final.”
The other Olympic ticket was picked by the Bayana Bayana of South Africa.

No decision on Siasia
On the embattled Super Eagles handler, Olajire said the fate of the coach will be decided after due consultations. He stated that the technical committee recommended Siasia’s sack going by the terms of agreement in his contract but the NFF will have to make due consultations before any pronouncement is made.
The Super Eagles failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations after being held by the eventual group leaders, Guinea in Abuja.
