The coach who led Nigeria’s U-23 team to clinch gold at the Atlanta ’96 Olympic Games, Johannes Bonfrere, has confirmed readiness to be in Nigeria for the testimonial match being organised for former Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu.
According to the organisers of the event, Bonfere is excited about his invitation and he has vowed to play an active part in the programme.
Kanu was Bonfrere’s skipper at the Olympic Games. He told our correspondent on the telephone on Sunday that he was happy with the response of people to the event.
