US-Vancouver Police Using Facebook To Hunt Down Rioters

Vancouver  police are using social network Facebook to hunt down and arrest rioters who  damage properties worth millions of dollars in the cities downtown area.
Minutes after the riots began a Facebook group was setup asking users to submit their pictures from the riots so Vancouver police could determine which rioters were causing damage and hunt them down. The page quickly gained more than 90,000 likes.
Police even managed to figure out exact locations for the pictures thanks to users who geo-tagged their photos.
While some sites have called the move a “slippery slop” that’s all just a bunch of rubbish, police in this case are not illegally accessing users Facebook accounts but are instead using the social network as a new method to gather evidence of crimes which are voluntarily provided to police by citizens. i love this method of combating crime....   www.facebook.com/emmanuelsamuko
