My Son Won The Election, Says Koro

     Senator Obanikoro

Nigeria’s ambassador to Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has accused the leadership of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Lagos of trying to annul the victory of his son Babajide in the chairmanship poll for Ikoyi-Obalende, LCDA.He said his son won on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
“We have the results of the election. We have won every ward in the LCDA. They are trying to annul it,” he told P.M.NEWS today.
He spoke at the office of Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, as they awaited the official declaration of the result.
According to him, the collated result shows that his son recorded 5408 votes against ACN’s 4695 votes. But he suspected foul play, as the returning officer for the LCDA was nowhere to be found,
“What they are trying to do is create confusion so that the election does not stand. But we shall do everything it takes to ensure that what they are trying to do does not stand,” he said.
Obanikoro said the attempt to annul the election in the state is a throwback to the June 12, 1993 annulment of the presidential election.
“People paid with their lives to get the election de-annulled,” he said.
“What is going on now is bad for Nigeria, bad for Lagos, bad for our politics.”
