He was reported to be 'blindsided' at the news that his wife Kim Kardashian was filing for divorce, and even vowed to fight to save the marriage.
But now Kris Humphries is admitting defeat, according to reports.
'He will be signing the papers,' says a source close to the 26-year-old basketball star told People
Humphries looked sombre as he arrived at New York's Guardia airport yesterday after lying low with family and friends in his home state of Minnesota.
He is reported to be in town on 'business.'
The source told the website that Humphries is working on moving on from the split and added that recent reports which stated he was refusing to sign the divorce papers were untrue.
Shortly after Kim filed for divorce on October 31, Humphries told TMZ he wanted to save his marriage.
'I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents,' he said.
'I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce.
'I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.'
Meanwhile, his estranged wife Kim Kardashian has been keeping a low profile in Los Angeles.

She returned to Los Angles at the weekend after filming Tyler Perry's ironically titled movie The Marriage Counselor in Atlanta.

Yesterday, she took to her blog to apologise to fans for her 'break' from updating and thank them for their support over the past two weeks.
She wrote on Celebuzz: ''I took a break from blogging for a while, but I’ve missed you guys so much and I want to start sharing my updates with you all again.
