Maria Shriver buys USD 10 million mansion near Schwarzenegger''s house

Los Angeles, Jul 9 (PTI) Arnold Schwarzenegger''s soon-to-be ex-wife Maria Shriver is set to own a USD 10 million home near her estranged husband''s place.

Shriver, who has filed for divorce from the former Californian governor, plans to buy a luxurious property in Los Angeles district Brentwood, which is just down the road from her former marital home.

The 55-year-old writer, who has four children, Katherine, 21, Christina, 19, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13, with Schwarzenegger, wants to settle close-by so that it is easier for the custody arrangements of their two younger children, reported TMZ online.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Schwarzenegger, 63, will give Shriver a "very generous divorce settlement" and more than she is owed under Californian law.

"Arnold realises he is to blame for the collapse of his marriage. Maria was a loving wife and mother, and he doesn''t think that any amount of money can minimise what he has put her through. He wants to do the right thing, and go above and beyond what is required of him under the law," said a source.

The couple''s 25-year-old marriage collapsed after revelations that Schwarzenegger cheated on Shriver with his housekeeper and also fathered a love child.
