Troubled US film star Lindsay Lohan is sentenced to 120 days in county jail and 480 hours community service.
Lohan had pled no contest to a theft charge after a Los Angeles store claimed she stole a necklace in January.When Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Holley, told the court that under a programme to reduce overcrowding in Los Angeles jails, Lohan was likely to be approved for house arrest, Judge Stephanie Sautner made an order that she may not be allowed out of the house to perform her community service and that the two sentences must be served consecutively.Lohan did not appear in court for the hearing.
