Just yesterday on Sunday, May 8, 2011, the 26 contestants were summoned from the house and onto the stage in a bid to round off the audition week. Fear mounted the hearts of the housemates as they waited for IK to announce the first evictee.
All 26 contestants were asked to randomly pick different-coloured gloves from a bag. After picking, the housemates were separated by the colour of gloves they had on. The first set who were 15 in number wore green and yellow gloves and were asked to return to the house. The remaining 11 housemates were asked to leave the stage, but surprisingly found themselves in a new house!
So, rather than eliminating any housemates, they were separated into two groups – Heads and Tails. Tension subsided and everything was back to normal…at least for now.
The night saw performances from Namibian star EES and South African rapper AKA and the Amplified Crew.
The winner of Big Brother Amplified will be named on 31 July, after 91 days of head-to-head competition – and the power to award the USD 200 000 prize rests in the hands of the viewers.
